Biography

Chris is an accomplished trial attorney licensed to practice in Illinois state and federal courts. Chris has significant experience defending traumatic brain injuries (TBI), wrongful death, burn injuries, cervical and lumbar spine injuries, and catastrophic personal and property damages due to fire and flooding. He focuses his practice on Construction litigation including Mechanics Liens, Commercial Litigation, Municipality/Governmental Liability, Premises/Product Liability, and Workers’ Compensation defense.

Prior to establishing Miller Berger LLC, Chris served as Managing Partner of the Chicago office of 150 + attorney law firm. However, Chris’ successes do not end in serving the needs of his clients. He is a published author, speaker, panelist, instructor, and contributor in numerous periodicals and bar association publications including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Chicago Bar Association, Institute for continuing Legal Education, UR Chicago, Chicago Tribune Red Eye, and the Associated Press. Additionally, Chris has presented seminars at the Chicago Bar Association, St Augustine College, and Columbia College.

In 2015 Chris was appointed and subsequently elected to the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association’s (HACIA) Board of Directors. He has presented at many HACIA Advanced Construction Training programs including the Breakfast for Success, Building Small Businesses program, and the HACIA U Pre-Apprenticeship Program.

From 2010 through 2012, Chris was added to the list of Illinois Rising Star, and from 2014 to the present, he has consecutively been named to the Illinois Super Lawyers list (added to the top 100 list in 2016), a peer review designation published by Thomson Reuters.

Chris was also an on-air personality at The LOOP 97.9 Chicago, host of “Local 101” for 13 years on Q101, Assistant Music Director and host of Chris Payne’s House of Payne on WRCX Rock 103.5, where he was also Local Music Director and host of “Chicago Rock.” Chris was also a Grammy Committee Member for the Chicago Chapter of the Recording Academy.
